First Prize In BES Category To Oltan Köleoğlu Enerji
Oltan Köleoğlu Energy (OKE), headquartered in Trabzon, received an award at the 10th International Energy and Environment Fair and Conference (ICCI) for its Biomass Energy Plant (BES) in Karaman.
The Karaman BES project, with a 40 MW installed capacity, won first prize in the Biomass Energy Plants (BES) category at ICCI. It produces 320,000 MWh of electricity annually, supplying approximately 150,000 households and indirectly contributing to the income of 300,000 farmers by utilizing their plant waste. The Karaman BES is also known as the largest in its category in Turkey and Europe.
OKE, whose Chairman of the Board is Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan, also owns BES plants in Afyon Eber, Samsun Çarşamba, and Çorum Mecitözü, in addition to Karaman.
OKE, one of Turkey's top 100 energy producers, generates energy from agricultural and forestry waste such as tree bark, sawdust, and wood chips, striving to minimize the country's reliance on imported energy while also contributing to the prevention of environmental pollution.
